Dear Residents, Partners, and Members of the Lexington Community,
Welcome to the digital home of the Lexington Housing Authority. Whether you’re here for resources, updates, or guidance, I want you to know this: We see you. We hear you. And we are committed to serving you—with both compassion and accountability.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of leading this agency through some of its most defining transitions. Prior to my arrival LHA officially transitioned to the RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration) model in January 2015, the road ahead was far from easy.
This shift presented real challenges—from regulatory hurdles to structural overhauls that tested the agency’s endurance.
Despite those challenges, the Lexington Housing Authority has emerged not just reformed—but refined. We have become your advocate, your compliance steward, and your steady partner in overcoming obstacles that few agencies survive. We have become the example of resilience that we hope to reflect back into the very community we serve.
Today, while property management companies handle day-to-day unit operations, our office remains laser-focused on what matters most: eligibility, voucher administration, and fair housing protection.
Our By Appointment Only service model reflects that same commitment to excellence. It was designed not to create barriers, but to remove the bottlenecks and burnout of outdated systems. Every appointment is a promise—that we will give your concerns our full attention, free from distraction, and handled with the precision required by federal regulation. We value your time, and we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and your dignity.
This community deserves a housing authority that doesn’t just meet expectations—but exceeds them. And under this new model, that’s exactly what we aim to do.
Thank you for your continued trust, your patience, and your partnership as we move forward—together.
In Service and Accountability,
Avis P. Robinson, MA
Executive Director
Lexington Housing Authority
